A group of senior kayakers mostly over 60 is planning a kayaking camp from Jugoing to Wagga Wagga starting on 16 Feb 2016
I would appreciate to hear from anyone that has done this paddle.
Particularly regarding the speed of the current in february, and whether it is dependent on water releases upstream.
The leg from Wantabadgery Reserve to Oura Beach reserve is 41.4km and requires paddling for 8hrs. How difficult is this leg likely to be for seniors who are accustomed to paddling a max of 24km?
I have read the Canoe Trail Brochure, but would like to hear from any group that has done this paddle and can give first hand information on the average speed they were able to maintain as well as logistics of water and food and roads for a possible support vehicle to meet up at the campsites.
