Free navigation equipment southern hemisphere

Postby Boatsie » Mon Jun 12, 2017 4:50 pm

With our Southern Cross delight,
2 Poynters are bright.
Any more brilliant aren't light might.
Another satellite..

Much like a solar panel is during day,
Effective when cloudless during night.

The two Poynters (pointers) point toward our Southern Cross and are our brightest stars from our southern view points.

Just in case worst case direction required..

BUT, the two pointers don't help in direction finding without involving the Southern Cross.

;)
Long ago there wasn't 30000 satellites shining bright neither. (Besides planets here and there).

I look for the Poynters to find our Southern Cross as they be the brightest in our sky. Still not sure where south is yet know that close
