Any tips over crossing the Adriatic Sea?

Postby Monty » Mon Oct 03, 2016 9:03 am

Hello,

I want to rent a sea kayak in Rab, Croatia next summer and I want to paddle to Venice and back.
This is approximately 600km.
This is along the coast of Croatia and Venice. But now I am wondering if I also can cross the Adriatic Sea.

If I want to cross the sea, it is 83km, 103km or 110km (see image below).
But the problem is I have never did a 60+ km trip in one day.
I have also always kayaked near the coast.

So my question is: Can someone give me recommendations about crossing the Adriatic Sea, and if it's a good idea, can someone give me tips about it.

Thanks in advance,

An 19yo Dutch adventurist ;)

Crazy Dutchman! ;)
Im thinking it sounds like a great adventure right up to when you mention a 100k crossing solo. Especially when you havnt done an open water crossing before. Its VERY different to paddling the protected waters of a coast line.
Dont do it alone is number one.
