New guy from the USA

Postby martin9428 » Sun Oct 01, 2017 7:55 am

First of all, I would like to say high. My name is Scott and I just bought my first Touring Kayak. I am not new to kayaking but new to owning a Touring kayak. I had a Wilderness Systems Tarpon 120 which I used for fishing, paddling local lakes and rivers as well as inland waterways. I recently traded it in for a WS Cape Horn 150 and like anyone with something new, I'm trying to learn about the sport. I have been on two, six day sea kayaking expeditions in the San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington State so not a complete newbie. I know just enough to get me in trouble.

I am a 22 year Veteran of the Armed Forces here in the US and retired in 2014 so filling my life with things that I want to do and enjoying my retirement while I still can

Hi,
Australia is nice.
A lot of deadly creatures yet they tend to do there own thing.
If interested in travel during retirement.
Murray river. Nice and easy. Let the snakes pass. Cheap, camp on river.
Not sure about boat hire. Nice relatively safe river system though.

Anyway, best luck with you.
