Advice on kayak groups or clubs Melbourne

Postby Mark81 » Sun Jan 10, 2016 7:50 am

Hi guys
I'm fairly new to kayaking. I'm based in Melbourne and looking for some advice on kayaking groups/clubs to join.
I've kayaked a handful of times and will be heading out to purchase a kayak in the next few days.
Any advance would be appreciated.
Cheers
Mark

The VSKC is great for getting out paddling. They run club paddles out your side of the bay fairly often.
What boat are you looking at?

Awesome thanks will check it out
As I'm starting out I was thinking of purchasing a sit on kayak from rays (very basic)

I've really only done about 3/4 kayaking trips very basic so was thinking this one would be the best to start with?
I'm only looking at some recreational trips, nothing too intense.

Open to suggestions

You would find that boat would not be acceptable by most sea kayaking club standards.
Google something like a mirage sea kayak to compare images to the Rays SOT.
